David "Dawncaller" Cry-Havoc, daughter of Lauda Cry-Havoc, was born and raised in the Cliffkeep Mountains, on the continent of Tal'Dorei. She shares her name with her father, David Skywatcher, and grandfather, David Warg's Bain; named for a legendary folk-hero: a halfling bard who was said to have earned the respect of giant-kin by slaying a Goliath warrior with only a stone and a sling.

It was clear from a young age that David was destined to become a Dawncaller like her mother before her. Small for a Goliath, the little girl with the big voice was always among the first to rise, singing loudly enough to wake the dawn--and the rest of the tribe--and began taking watch as soon as she was old enough for the responsibility. Moving with the tribe from place to place, David took every opportunity to study the various folk music of the people's they encountered, but she has always favored the energetic expression of traditional festival drumming. This also makes her pretty skilled with bludgeoning weapons.

Living in rural areas for most of the life, she's not very worldly-wise when it comes to the ways of city folk, but she's smart, adaptive, and learns quickly from her mistakes.
